Vermicomposting 101

$22
Calendar Apr 23, 2020 at 7 pm

Composting is a great way to create rich compost for your garden and house plants by taking advantage of the natural process that worms use to break down organic waste. It takes much less space than normal composting and can be done in your home. Learn about the basic requirements for setting up a vermicomposting bin and how to care for the worms so they produce the dark rich material that plants love. This is also a great way to reduce food waste as the worms are happy to devour vegetable peels, coffee grounds, old bread and other kitchen waste. Participants will learn how to build a simple bin to start with in this informative class. All supplies (yes, even the worms) are included in the class fee. A great learning experience for adults and children!

One student aged 10 and up can register for this class for FREE when a parent/guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

Thursday 4/23 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
