Defensive Driving Course

Save money on your auto insurance and remove points from your driving record! This point and insurance reduction program reviews safe driving and accident-avoidance techniques. Upon completion of the class, drivers are eligible for a 10% reduction in their auto insurance and/or up to 4 points removed from their DMV driving record. Drivers may take the course every 3 years for insurance reduction and every 18 months for point reduction. All drivers listed on a policy are eligible to complete the course.

Students aged 16 and up are welcome to register for this class when a parent or guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

 

Basic Woodcarving

This class will give you the skills needed to begin in the wonderful hobby of woodcarving. No experience necessary!!! This class really is for beginners! You will learn about knives, wood, and the basic cuts needed to get a solid start in woodcarving. Think Christmas gifts made by hand. If you’ve ever wanted to start woodcarving and just don’t have a clue where or how to start, THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY to learn the basics.

Students aged 14 and up are welcome to register when a parent or guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

A supply fee of $40 per person is due and payable to the instructor the day of class. Students will receive a set of carving knives and wood.

Beginner Photography

Don’t let your camera collect dust! Join this beginner’s photography class and unleash your creativity behind the lens. If you’re looking to learn more about mastering your settings like ISO, aperture and shutter speed then this is the class for you. You will also learn how to create visually interesting images like harvesting the magic of sunlight. By taking this class, you will gain the confidence to use your camera and create the stunning images you desire.  Students are welcome to bring their camera to class.

Students aged 14 and up are welcome to register for this class when a parent or guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

 

Knitting for Intermediate Students

Now that you have learned how to knit and purl, it’s time to build on those skills! In this class you will make a lovely warm hat or scarf for someone special. Here is your chance to extend what you learned in the beginner class to the next level. Join us and learn to read a pattern and begin learning how to design your own clothing.  Students will also learn a taste of crocheting to make your project edges unique.

Students aged 12 and up are welcome to register when a parent or guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

A supply fee of $25 per person is due and payable to the instructor the day of class.

Introduction to Fly Fishing

Introduction to Fly Fishing

Join us for an introduction to fly fishing! Topics include equipment, fly rod selection, stream new tactics, safety, basic entomology (bugs), knots, target species information, distinctions and resources. Warm water, cold water and saltwater fly-fishing opportunities will be discussed. Following a practical demonstration, each student will be given an opportunity to learn proper fly casting; the course will include casting instruction and practice. Students are encouraged to bring their own fly rods if they already have one. Loaner rods will be available for students who do not have their own. The course is structured for the beginner or novice angler.  The instructor is a lifelong outdoorsman, a former Orvis Fly Fishing instructor and has been fly fishing for over 20 years. The course is 4 hours total, two evenings that are two hours each in length. Class size will be limited for more individualized instruction. Early registration is highly recommended.

Spellbound Cookies

On this Hunter’s Moon, come and cast a spell for what you need-whether love, prosperity, protection or simply happiness. Your almond crescent cookie creations will be filled with zest, herbs, and spices of your choosing like: nutmeg, cinnamon, rosemary, or orange. You will then shape the crescents, bake, and cover them in “moon dust” or powdered sugar. Keep for yourself or share with a friend that may need some cookie magic in their life. Each participant will leave with at least a dozen cookies- two different flavor sets are possible. We look forward to baking some magic with you!  *Nut allergy warning-all cookies contain almonds.  Instructor will contact students prior to class with list of utensils to bring.

Students aged 16 and up are welcome to register for this class with a parent/guardian that is also registered and attending the same class.

Meet Your Spirit Guides: Two-Part Lecture - Discussion - Meditation

Class meets twice. October 17 & 19 th

Acknowledging our higher power allows us to experience life in a much happier and more fulfilling way. Our Spirit Guides have a very important job. Spirit Guides help us to stay on our life’s path. In turn we grow, making it easier to connect with our higher self. The ability to recognize and understand when our Guides are communicating with us, is essential for our own personal growth and the ability to help ourselves and others. This workshop will consist of two sessions.

Part 1 – Lecture & Discussion: You will learn how to identify who your Spirit Guides are, how to connect with each of them individually, and the different ways they communicate with you.

Part 2 – Meditation: Learn what it means to meditate and how it can help you to connect with your Spirit Guides.

Simple techniques will be taught and practiced through guided group meditation. Please dress comfortably. You will need a pen and notebook to take notes. You may also bring a pillow and/or blanket to use for meditation.

Students aged 16 and up are welcome to register for this class when a parent or guardian is also registered and attends the same class.

Pretzel Palooza

Just in time for Octoberfest! Wow your family and friends with homemade pretzels and pretzelrolls this fall. Learn about using quick rise yeast doughs and how quickly you can whip up thesewonderful treats. In this class you will learn all the steps from mixing to shaping your pretzelsand rolls. Find out why boiling your soft pretzel dough before baking is so important to achievethat classic taste, we all know and love. In addition, you will learn to make a savory Bavariancheese dip, sweet cream cheese and honey mustard for your delicious pretzels! Each studentwill leave class with six pretzel rolls and six soft pretzels and two ounces of each dip.

Students aged 14 and up are welcome to register when a parent or guardian is also registeredand attends the same class.
